First time visit here and I'll definitely return. The bus to take you to the start is a great idea and there is one to take you back after to other parts of the city (all paid for up front). I was about 2 mins late getting there as the last bus was stuck in traffic but being a non elite runner it wasn't a problem.
One piece of advice, if using the bus service provided get there early than 9 (they say no later than 9.15 but that's too late) and you will be fine.
Marshal's were great and so was the local support!! Good half marathon to make a weekend of it if not local!

This was my second time doing Bournemouth Marathon, I did this back in 2016 and I thought I would give it another go. The route is very scenic and lovely views. The weather seemed to be cooler than when I did it in 2016, there was a cool breeze and at times it was windy. There is good crowd support by Bournemouth Pier but parts of the course does seem to lack crowd support.
There appeared to be a lot of sand when running on the prom which made it difficult for running on. The marshalls were great and very encouraging. The water stations were around every 3 miles and there was also energy gel stations. The marathon runners have to run through the finish line around 17 miles but you have to run another 9 miles to the finish which is hard going. The finishers medal was really good and you get a few goodies.

This is the second time I ran the bournemouth marathon. I love running by the sea. It is a very well organised race from start to finish. The buses to take you to the start were on time and after a 10 minute journey from the the pier you are there. Bag drop, loos etc are all clearly marked. There are plenty of loos which is a good thing. Apart from going through the finish line at mile 17 the course is great with plenty of opportunity to run along the piers and the promenades. The support was fantastic and the finish line was a welcome sight. I would recommend this race but unfortunately they have cancelled it and are only doing the half.
