Hi Katherine. I'm a bit confused by your comments about the t-shirt - at the beginning of your review you say that the Bournemouth Tri was OK in terms of the t-shirt (which suggests you have one) but then go on to say you didn't get one. With regards to the different sizes, we changed this for exactly the reason you mentioned earlier in the year and emailed all participants to update their sizing in line with the new male/female sizing. The instructions when ordering a t-shirt are to collect this at registration. The course is risk assessed every year and signed off in line with BTF requirements, as well as ensuring checks are done on the weekend of the race - we paid particularly close attention to that this year due to the forecast weather. The course maps are available on the website prior to entering our events so people are able to see the course and roads that are used. Maps are also included in the event pack that is emailed out to all participants. It is the responsibility of the athlete to ensure they are confident competing on the course, especially as we can't control how close other vehicles pass. We also have marshals around the course to help keep you safe but it is the responsibility of the athlete to know the course and when to turn/exit at the various points. With regards to the start time - although you have selected the sprint in your review, our records show you did the Standard Distance. This was a mass start for both male and female athletes and also included relays and Aquabike so there would have been male athletes starting at the same time as you - this was all in the event pack and on the website. However, as the race is chip timed, your time would have all been recorded in line with when you started and finished. Also in the event pack were instructions on how to contact the timing company within 48 hours of the event with any queries. You can also reply to the post race email you mentioned - this is how most athletes communicate with us and you are very welcome to still do this if you still have any concerns about your race, t-shirt or any other aspects of the event.
