This is my second time running at Boston. It’s a great little race with a buzzing atmosphere at the start line. The support staff are really friendly and encouraging the entire route. The only negative is all the communication says there are showers at the end when there aren’t any. That needs to be removed from the comms as I had planned my race and logistics with a shower at the finish line. Not a big issue but worth removing from comms.

PROS: 1) Great event overall and great value for money, 2) Excellent, friendly marshalling and frequent aid stations, 3) No course congestion but still a decent crowd of people to run with throughout, 4) very, very flat! CONS: 1) wind was pretty bad, but tbh you're running out on the fens so it's expected. It's not really a PB course though for that reason, 2) Could have done with a couple more toilets at the early aid stations - there was often just one which meant time lost to queuing, 3) Finish area was a bit hard to navigate. I had to ask where the T-Shirts were being handed out and I couldn't find any changing facilities so had to use a local pub instead

First time for this half. As a race organiser myself this was spot on. Good atmosphere, scenic, flat course. Toilets well managed and kept clean. Start time zones would have helped safety at the start as there were a lot of slow runners at the front. The weather was good, although a little less wind would help next year.

Thank you to everyone involved in putting the race on. The level of marshalling and the water stations was excellent. The number of water stations was also great and the fact that you had a toilet at each one was very reassuring for runners. The course is good in that it is flat but it is very exposed so when you get the wind, it really was noticeable. However, I did do the race in 2024 and the weather yesterday was so much better! I thought the amount of signs out was exceptional and huge thanks to the team who put them all out and who marked the arrows on the roads as well. This was really important as I was towards the back and there weren’t Marshalls at every junction and not always other runners in sight so having all those signs at every junction plus the fact they were on the road is really important. I don’t underestimate the huge amount of work that must’ve gone in to make that happen thank you. It was good to have more toilets at the start, but I still had to queue just under half an hour for them. Whilst it was really sweet that people were cleaning them in between each use, it did mean that the process was slower. The baggage drop worked really smoothly. One area that might just be worth looking at would be the car parking at the end. We had done it before and also checked out the night before, but I think if you were trying to meet somebody at the end, it would be difficult to know where to park. I’m not sure there’s any way round that other than just telling people to suss it out a bit beforehand. The results are out really quickly. I think it is a brilliant idea that you give people the sterling amount of their age if they are an age category winner. I laughed though when I discovered that you don’t give it out for the 70 to 75 category as I came first in my category for that! I also recognise there were only two in the category and I’m absolutely fine about it! Please pass on my huge thanks to all the club members and local people who helped organise It.

Absolutely love this marathon. It’s good value and so well organised. It’s the second time I’ve run it and I will definitely return. I recommend as a first marathon due to the terrain. The water stations are well stocked and at regular intervals.
