Good venue and facilities. Thank you! More marshals would improve the event, including counting swimming lengths for participants and guiding them through transition and on the run. Lots of participants went the wrong way in transition, particularly due to a lack of clear signage and partly due to parked vehicles. It would have been good to have received clearer information about the run route. It was not at all clear that the first lap was the shorter lap and consequently some people went the wrong way. A map showing clearly the laps would have been helpful and more marshals proving clear instructions would have been better. Having the registration van in the middle of transition wasn’t ideal. The queue for registration was also huge so perhaps more stations for registration would be a good idea. Chip timing would enable quicker issue of results.

Many things made it a very disorganised event. Pre-race registration took forever (the guy was getting numbers mixed up etc); the swim was congested and they were almost set off on top of each other; some people didn’t complete the required swim distance; the route from transition was changed from when the kids were briefed; on the run some kids didn’t do the full distance either (as we watched them miss the first half lap)! Marshall’s were lacking and no timing chip as they had last year. Considering this counts towards British Tri points it’s not great. Overall very disappointing! We spoke to 2 local tri clubs who both said they could have leant equipment and also helped with marshalling but neither had been contacted. Maybe something to think about in the future.

Some minor issues, but still a race worth participating in. Registration could have been more organised as a lot of participants from different races all turned up at once which made the early races struggling to register and get to the pool before the race started. Registration should have been opened only for Tristan and Tri start 1 first and start next round once they were completed. We got there 45 mins early and had to jump near the front as wouldnt have made it in time. The Registration queue should have been away from the transition changing zone as it made it very busy and chaotic especially for young kids to put their shoes on. We were never told where to go to put our stuff except to go to lane 7. Would go again.

Thank you! We think the event needs a ticking chip im sure kids had it before. Kids were set off later than scheduled times in 5 second so I’m unsure how final result is calculated. It would be nice to see a break down of the swim time / run time per athlete. Please bring back the timing chip. Our kids work hard so it’s nice to support them in areas when we know how they have done. Results not updated as yet from 6 hours ago… do we know when we will see them? Please can there be more information on the lap route such as a map - prior to arrival. This made our kids more nervous as they found this out only 5 minutes before race time 9:10 am start. Thank u! Also please do more aquathlons and triathlons we do love the MCA events. Thank you
