Fantastic event. Organisation for a first event was spot on. Very relaxing on arrival and so easy to find you way round from registration, transition area and to the waters edge! Will definitely do it again next year!

I really enjoyed the Bishopton sprint tri in 2025 and would happily do the course again. The staff and volunteers were very friendly, the course was marked very well and even though I attended alone, a number of people made lots of noise when I crossed the line and I finished with a massive smile on my face - that finish was simply the best I could have hoped for. I also love the sustainability ethos of the event and was very happy to donate some good quality kit that I'm no longer able to use. My only issue was that the comms for the event were sent pretty late, about a week before the event, and because I didn't know my wave time, I hadn't booked accommodation in advance; by the time I tried to, there were very few options left in the area and I ended up staying somewhere I wouldn't stay at again.

Things I loved about this event: The information provided including the video, this wasn't my first triathlon but had it been I would have felt very at ease with how approachable Nigel and Matt are, the welcome atmosphere and efforts made to be inclusive and environmentally friendly. I love that this is core to your values and sets you apart from other events. Some areas for improvement I know you're well aware re: registration again. At times too much information (a difficult balance to strike!) A briefing for sprint, and separate for olympic would have been helpful here. I wasn't clear where the 'Run out' was, perhaps signs higher up so those shorter/whose brain has deserted them somewhere on the cycle! can see? Could you make clearer in the information where results will appear, I had been expecting an email and/or to appear on the UPrevial website but likely my error there! The marshals were brilliant, and the noisemakers honestly gave me a big boost! Please pass my thanks on to all those involved! The announcer was great and I also loved the mix of music and that Pantera was on when I finished! I would have loved to make use of the wetsuit dunking, and recyling of swim hats, but must admit by the time I'd finished my race had completely forgotten due to exhaustion(!) and could have done with being reminded or big signs to point me in the direction for that. Again, such great ideas and values that with the smallest of tweaking will again set you apart from other events. I love the ethose of UPrevail. The run out already mentioned by others wasn't ideal, and I hadn't realised I would be running on the road (though extremely quiet roads and not a problem for me) this should be made clearer and good practice (e.g which side to run on) would be helpful for those not used to it, but I thought fantastic efforts were made for the run course and I personally have felt it was clear. The cycle was hilly from my perspective but my local area is very flat(!) Some improvements for registration (I know you know that already and have no doubt it would be smoother for next ones). It was good thinking to adapt race time and I think this shows your aeims to create an environment that sets people up to succeeed.

Poor and inefficient registration process which caused stress for participants and a delay to swim start. All the different numbers, pieces of paper and caps are normally in an A4 envelope with the participant's number on the outside. This is a clean, clear and efficient onestep process in handing out this important documentation. I would recommend U Prevail adopt this process for future events. Friendly, helpful and competent swim support staff and marshals. Very nice swim - well marked with the buoys. However the bike route was not just fast and flat; sections were undulating and winding which would have been good to know in advance. This was particularly relevant due to the heavy rain and extensive surface water, notwithstanding U Prevail are not responsible for the British weather! It was good that the risk of potholes (under the puddles) was made clear. The sprint run route could have been better sign posted, especially in the fields and between the styles. The little yellow card in the grass was not easy to see and several people turned left after the second style before they realised it should have been right. Overall the experience was positive and I will be looking to participate in future U Prevail triathlon events, although I really hope the registration process is improved.

Thank you for this, these are things we have identified as well and are priorities as we move forward. We couldn't agree more that the registration process was way below the standards we set ourselves and this will be rectified for future events. Your suggestions for fixing are great thank you.

I really enjoyed the race. the only things I'd give feedback on is: - Registering - the numbers were in baskets and the people registering you had to hunt through them when somebody came in, most races I've done have them in envelopes in numerical/alphabetic order to hand out straight away. - Marshalls - at the point I was coming out of the run it wasn't clear where I needed to go (either on the grass or down the lane) and there was not a marshall there, somebody was there by the time I finished so not sure if this was something that was noted yesterday and changed or they just weren't in place yet (I somehow found myself going out on the run in 7th place, so might have just got back a bit early!) - Finish - I'm not sure of the reason for it, but the hairpin/U turn at the end felt a bit strange. there seemed to be the space on the grass to have a straight finish (and my ankles would have appreciated it).

Thanks for the feedback, We couldn't agree more that the registration process was way below the standards we set ourselves and this will be rectified for future events. The U turn was set up so that our announcer had ample time to see everyone and call out their names and allow for more supporters. Something we will look at and tweak though. Thanks for the comments and we will take them all on board and make improvements going forward.

From competing in many events over the years, I recognise that this was the first one for the organisers but here is my feedback 1. Registration was a shambles. Invest some time in creating competitor envelopes with all numbers enclosed rather than having 5 different buckets hunting through numbers 2. Swim waves. Invest is an megaphone and be clear about which waves are starting when. The swim start was chaotic and led to confusion over finishing times (see later) 3. The bike route was rough in places (not your fault) but the joining instructions had it as 'flat' when there was a lot of undulation 4. The run route was a lot of faffing about for a sprint (styals to climb, field running, log jumping) 5. Results and awards. The timings process was a shables and changing the awards ceremony 'on the hoof' from top 3 age groupers to top 2 and then only the winners meant that a lot of people were hanging about only to then be disappointed. 6. The location with a 'one way in and one way out' meant that traffic was heading out along a single-track farm road as riders and runners were coming in .... not ideal from a safety persepective but unavoidable for this location The staff, marshalls and safety on the route were top notch.

Thank you for the feedback and we agree with most of it. The registration was way under our expected standards and is something we will improve on. Pre event prep is crucial here. While we had a mega phone it failed to work after getting soaked with the rain. We did not have a back up, so again something we will address for future events. The run route was advertised as a trail run with stiles to step through so this should be expected. I messed up the age groups for the awards and ordering the correct trophies and I hold my hands up for this. My apologies. I agree with you regarding the driveway entrance and this is a concern should the event grow we need to find a way around this congestion. We are working on it and hope to find a safe and suitable solution to this. Thanks again, we hope that you will give another of our events a try where we will do ourselves and our participants justice.

The race itself was well organised too - just enough markings on all routes, volunteers were really friendly and super helpful. Lots of support from medical team too. Great coffee and cheap sandwiches at the finish line!!

The marshals were great, I had a bit of banter with one about still having my swimming goggles with me during the run! The run route went through some fields and bushes, and at one tricky bit where I could have gone left or right, the arrow marker had fallen on the ground so I couldn't see it. I managed fine as there was a runner ahead of me who was on the right track. It was a nice touch hearing my name and club called out as I entered the finishing area.

Thank you I will pass this on to our marshal team. This area of the run, if this is kept as the course, will definitely be addressed. A marshal will be in place here next time.
