This was fantastic. The course is beautiful, yes, but more importantly the organisation was fantastic, everyone friendly and helpeful. The course is tough, without being overly so, and the reception at the finish wonderful. Ah to sit down with the band playing, my slice of home made cake and a real ale in hand. Britain at it's best. Smiles all round. 

A well organised 15 mile race around a lovely part of the Kent/Sussex border and Bewl Water. The drinks and sponge stations were a 'God send' and much needed as we ran in 28 degree heat. A challenging mid-distance run and a lovely atmosphere with a well earned beer at the finish line!

This was my first Bewl 15 and I’m looking forward to running it again, hopefully in slightly cooler conditions.  

Parking couldn’t have been easier. Running round the reservoir is lovely, with views across the water to oast houses and others enjoying a glorious day on the water. The course is clearly marked with plenty of advance warning about water, sports drinks and sponges. Jelly beans and orange segments were most welcome.  The woodland shade made a hot run more bearable as did the mist spray someone had set up.  It is definitely an undulating route, a little more hill training will be in order before I run this again. It was a nice touch when runners names and clubs were called out as they approached the finish.

A really great race this one, just wish it was a little bit cloudier!

Arrived late but still plenty of parking (although I dread to think what the car park hill would be like it if was wet weather). Start line a short downhill walk from the school - which means uphill after the race! Ouch!

Plenty of people taking part, good mix of ages and abilities. A tough course (watch out for the up and down road hills at the end) but it was well marshalled and had one of the best ranges of refreshments I've seen - water stations, wet sponges, orange segments, energy drink stations, jelly beans all of which spread across the route about 2 miles apart from each other.

At the end loads of water, free beer, free energy drinks, proper homemade cakes, bananas and you even got a t shirt with your medal.

Great value for money! 

All round a great day, I'll keep an eye on the weather report in the run up next year but its most likely I'll be back! Keep up the good work! 

This was the second time I’ve done the Bewl 15. The route takes you from the the start in Wadhurst clockwise around Bewl Water Reservoir  taking in a mix of trail and roads. It’s a well organised event, with ample free parking, bag drop and toilets. The marshals are great, and there’s plenty of drink stops (water and lucazade) with with further jelly beans, wet sponges and oranges in between. A make shift shower for the runners mid race was an inspired touch as it was SO hot. Once finished there was a good goodie bag, with 2 different energy drinks, chocolates and sweets plus a few other bits. The medal was again lovely, and a free pint of ale awaited me. All in all a great event, which sadly I didn’t enjoy this year as it was so damn hot! I may wait for a late entry and check the weather first next year!

*note to organiser* for the second year running I was given the wrong size shirt by what I believe to be the same lady. Didn’t notice until I got home. I’m quite obviously not an XS once I’ve been seen and would one day love to wear one of your lovely looking tech T’s!  Also I understand some of the route changes, but not running along the Dam made me a bit sad. I know why we didn’t, but could you please try to make it happen next time?

The stunning Bewl Water reservoir on a scorching 29 degree day. Had all the makings of a great run experience around this picturesque course. 

Where was the warning about the hills at mile 13, all was going so well. Seriously it took as much effort to walk them as run. 

This is a challenging run that is for sure but then strangely satisfying when you cross the line and receive a free beer and great medal and technically T shirt. 

I ran the Bewl 15 for the first time in 2017 and it immediately became my favourite ever race. The information sent out before the race was brilliant and I felt as prepared as possible. On the day everything from the facilities at race HQ to the marshalling, AMAZING feed and water stations, and the incredible reception at the finish line was tip top. There was a festival vibe throughout and although the route was testing in places it was also a lot of fun. I would highly recomment this race - don't be put off by the further-than-half-marathon distance, the support is so good it carries you round. Amazing!

I would recommed this race to anyone who is looking for a challenging but scenic race. It is very tough, but highly rewarding and the oragnisation is first class. With a free t-shirt, free beer and cake at the end, what more could you possibly ask for? Credit to Wadhurst Runners for all their efforts in putting on a fine race again. I plan to be back again next year!
