Brilliantly organised the course maps, MC announcements and on route Marshalls 👏. Have already booked for Ireland and Cholmondeley for 2027 and am booking Belvoir (local) today. Concessions really good. What to do better - get the race dates out earlier as re Ireland, accommodation etc needs booking in advance! On course drone footage on a big screen so spectators can feel involved and then offer footage for sale to competitors (who doesn’t like watching themselves run/cycle in a world of pain)!!

A generally well organised event, good (yet very tough) run route and great bike route. Transitiion is well marked out. Unfortunatley the enthusiasm notch from marshalls needs to be turned up somewhat. I would say 75% of the marshalls looked bored just sitting on the ground and generally not interested. There was a few though that were brilliant. The two lads at the main drinks / food stop on the run in the wooded area were great as well as the woman with the bright pants that was at the crossing point for pedestrians and swimmers running towards transition just after you leave the car parking. She was great, chatting to everyone and congratulated me when i was leaving asking if i had a nice day. Another lady marshalling in the wooded area at a course change point was brilliant and very friendly and encouraging. There was also a few on the bike course that cheered us on and they were all quite good at junctions. Event merch was a little on the steep side so didnt bother to buy anything. I would book again to do a castleseries event but would always wait until the sales are on as you can sometimes get upto 30% off. There are a few small tweaks that could make this brilliant. They are small niggly things. In the event village you defninitely need more bins. I would of expected some next to or near food vans but struggled to find any. Clearly marking them would help.

Hi Al, thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed the event overall, particularly the bike and run routes and the organisation of transition. It's also great to hear that several of our marshals made such a positive impression. We'll be sure to pass your kind words on to the team, especially those you mentioned, as they'll really appreciate the recognition. We also appreciate your honest feedback about the enthusiasm of some marshals, event merchandise and the availability of bins in the event village. Constructive comments like these are invaluable and will be included in our post-event review as we look at ways to improve the participant experience. Thank you again for your feedback. We're pleased to hear you'd race with us again, and we hope to welcome you back to another Castle Race Series event soon.

This was my second year back at Belvoir. A beautiful venue for an event. Extremely well organised from registration right through to finishing the event. All organisers, everyone involved friendly and helpful. Pre race briefing both on line and prior to the race excellent . I emailed a couple of times to clarify some points regarding my event and received quick responses from the team. Good facilities available, plenty of toilets and changing rooms. Hopefully I’ll be back again next year. It’s becoming a year event on my calendar. Thank you ☺️

From start to finish, this event was great. The pre-race communication was top-tier—detailed and reassuring. Informative videos covered everything: arrival logistics, parking, registration, the layout of the event village, and thorough race briefings. As a first-time duathlete, this level of preparation made a huge difference. I knew exactly what to expect, which made race morning feel smooth and less stressful. On arrival, everything was brilliantly organised. Staff and marshals were incredibly welcoming, creating a friendly, buzzing atmosphere despite the rain. Their support didn’t end at the start line either—they were out on the course too cheering us on. Before the race kicked off, we were given clear, concise instructions for both disciplines. From signage to safety, every detail was covered to make sure we stayed on course and in control. The course itself was fantastic, with the marshals acting as your personal cheer squad all the way. And let’s be honest—there’s no better way to cross a finish line than being handed a medal and their being a buffet. Yes, a post-race buffet. Absolute win. In summary: a brilliantly organised, welcoming and motivating event. Whether you're new to duathlons or a seasoned racer, castle race series delivers a race day to remember. I’ll definitely be back!

Being a back marker I always worry about going off course having nobody to follow!! This was so well signposted at very regular intervals , relief. Thank you for that and was able to go flat out in confidence.

Great event. Marshalls and the entire team had a lovely vibe about them, efficient and helpful and when I went to the wrong racking, they dealt with it is a positive way. Marshalls on bike course were quick to point direction ahead of a turn, I didn't hear any guidance if the turn was clear but maybe they didn't think I needed it or that they should provide advice. Water at the start would have been helpful- even just a tap. There was one in the camping field. Toilets ran out of loo roll causing the queue to move slowly. More detailed advice about the run terrain would have helped- everyone was asking about footwear. When dry, road shoes were fine for grip and faster most of the time, when heavy rain set in, trail shoes gave some needed grip, just saying that helps people make a footwear call. Medal was fabulous, location stunning and I would recommend it to all!

I did the standard distance duathlon and loved it. The 10.5 k run was absolutely stunning! There were tough climbs, which I knew were coming. The weather for the bike leg was torrential rain which made it challenging but it was all really well marshalled and organised. Lots of climbing for the first couple of k in the last 5 k but then a super fast finish. The briefings were very helpful and all the marshalls friendly and welcoming. As for any improvements, would love some more recovery drinks/ protein shakes to be available to buy in the event village. The castle and castle grounds made for a stunning backdrop to the events and the run courses were beautiful.

This was my first time doing a Castle event after many years of racing. The overall organisation was good, with courses clearly marked, plenty of Marshall who actually knew what was going on, and clear communication with regards to which races were starting when. The team did a good job in the rain as well. The spectator fee left a bad taste in the mouth though. On top of my race entry I also now how to pay so my wife can stand in a wet muddy field, sparsely populated with over priced food trucks?? Kind of a ridiculous charge to levy on people when they are already giving you a chunk of money. I paid for the ticket beforehand, but they didn’t even check when we got there… could and should have just walked straight through. So despite all the positives, I’m probably just gonna remember this race as the rainy one where they had that b*llsh*t spectator fee to leak a bit more money out of me!

Thanks for your honest feedback. It’s great to hear the organisation, course marking, and marshals met your expectations, even in the rain. I appreciate your concerns about the spectator fee and how it affected your experience — I’ll make sure to pass this on to the team for future improvements. Hopefully your next Castle event will be a sunnier one with an even better vibe!
