My first multi sports event for a very long time. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be doing more events. Bedford embankment is a really nice location for the event and the run and bike courses were good. The event was very well organise and set up. Signage on the road and run was very good. Marshals, support and encouragement around the course were all excellent. Will be back next year Thanks to all involved

Bedford Triathlon is absolutely incredible. This is the 5th year in a row that I have competed at Bedford Triathlon and there is a reason I keep coming back. Firstly, they always seem to book the good weather - this year being no exception, perfect conditions for a triathlon. Then the course is amazing. The swim along the river is fantastic - the start had been moved this year due to the duck weed and there were sections of the swim where the weeds were thick but the water quality itself is always excellent. I suspect the summer warmth has had a lot to do with the amount of pondweed this year. The bike course is fantastically marshalled and a great mix of rolling hills and fast flat straights. Where junctions are necessary the Marshall presence was high and clearly marked. All marshalls were friendly and cheer the competitors on. The run, changed this year from 3 laps to 4 was fantastic - my own hubris meant I hadn't read the pre race information - assuming everything would be the same so I was caught out initially by there being 4 laps but it was a great improvement to the course. Bedford Harriers always put on an amazing event and this year was no exception. The organisation is without peer and the aid stations/post race snacks were great. If you're considering a standard or sprint distance triathlon at any point - do this one. It is terrific.

A toilet in transition area and on the run course. Option of only 1 copy of your race number if you have a race belt, would save on paper. The encouragement from the marshals was outstanding and the location was fantastic.

For my **first ever Olympic Distance Triathlon**, I genuinely couldn’t have picked a better event. What I loved about the Bedford Harriers Olympic Triathlon is that there’s room for everyone. The elite triathletes can absolutely fly, the experienced mid-packers can race hard, and us beginners can turn up, feel welcome and have a brilliant experience. The **swim** is my Achilles heel, but even that is beautifully simple – up one side of the river and back down the other. And then, rather impressively, there’s a fancy ladder to make getting out of the water remarkably civilised! From there it’s a short jog into transition, which is brilliantly organised and clearly signposted, before heading out onto the bike. **Oh my word, what a bike route!** Fast, flowing and with some fantastic views. Yes, Hillfoot is a climb, but it’s really the only significant one. The signage and marshal support are superb – the one thing you simply don’t have to think about is where you’re going. It’s all done for you. You just concentrate on riding your bike. Then it’s back to race HQ, through transition and onto the **fast, flat run**. And this is where the support really comes alive. Marshals, organisers, supporters and members of the public cheering, clapping, shouting encouragement and, of course, **cowbells!** What more could you ask for? As an introduction to Olympic Distance triathlon, I couldn't have asked for more. I came into this as a first-timer and came away thinking about using it as my springboard to a **Middle Distance triathlon next spring**. That probably tells you everything you need to know. Thank you, Bedford Harriers. **You are the Rolls Royce of event organisers.**

I thoroughly enjoyed the event. Everything was extremely well organised and friendly. I think what made the event even more special was that the numbers were relatively small compared with other events. This made the whole experience feel more enjoyable, while also providing plenty of space for spectators to support the athletes. During the swim, I could see my family throughout the whole course, which was really nice. The bike ride was along some really nice roads and super well sign posted. I will be returning next year!
