This is not your standard out-n-back 10k. Running on sand is hard work, but OK (if you pick your path right). Groynes to climb / clamber over. Easier on the way out when your legs are less tired (but the drops are bigger), harder on the way back. The thing I like about this is just that it's very different to a lot of other events. This must be the 3rd or 4th time I've done it. The weather has never been great - OK, so it was lots better than last time when it was pouring with rain and blowing a gale - but maybe I'm just unlucky - but running on a beach, in the drizzle, early on a Sunday morning when most sensible people would be in bed. What's not to like?

Really enjoyed this race. Hard on sand but think I will be quicker for it when I get back to harder surfaces. Great vibe about the event and good tshirt and medal.

This company always run a good event, from advertising, coverage on Facebook to registration. Of course this event was always going to be a winner as it is held on the beautiful Bournemouth beach. Running on sand is not easy, maybe I should have practiced! Then jumping the groynes is an added effort. Loved the run , very friendly and not so much a refreshment station at the end but a running buffet. As always the best T-shirt and fabulous medal.
