First and foremost, as this was my first time at the Barns Green Half Marathon - this event was impressively well-organised. We arrived early and there was zero confusion as to where to park, the parking marshalls were exemplary and on it from the beginning! The event also has a great choice of vendors with coffee vans, crepes, pizza, burgers - although I'd have loved some pasta if that's a tip for next year! The course is definitely hilly not "undulating" so be prepared! Even though I knew this - some of the hills in the first half especially seemed to keep on coming! However, the logistics, plenty of marshalls on the course and the general atmosphere was great - you can see it brings all the surrounding villages together. If you have kids there is also another event for them - so the organises have thought of everything. There was regular water on the course but perhaps a bit too much of a gap after the second water stop - I missed that one as it was a bit short in length and had to carry on running past it. However, all in all a great event.
