Overall it was a very enjoyable event and the staff and volunteers were friendly, encouraging, and helpful. My three criticisms are that the finish line was out of water towards the end, the swim to bike transition route could have been clearer, and the finish line was difficult to see so I ran the wrong way and then watched several others also miss that last turn/curve to cross the line.

This race went without a hitch! The race team have hit their stride with perfect course directions, signage, starting / ending on time, and AWESOME post-race / finish line snacks for the runners! One of the best run races all year! The only two minor things I noticed that could be improved upon for next time is adding the transition closing time in the email communcation, and ensuring that the sidewalks going out and coming in are not blocked with pedestrians (non-racers), but there's only so much you can do about that. Thoroughly enjoyed this race. It was organized well and the staff and volunteers were outstanding. Absolutely beautiful medal and great swag. The bike and run courses were marked well and it was great that Holloway was closed off to traffic as some bikers walked with their bikes on the infamous Holloway hill that caused some minor congestion. For the most part, cars were cooperative and generous on Kehrs Mill and Clayton Rd but a police car stationed on Clayton to oversee race safety would be nice too.

This was my first triathlon and it was a good choice. I particularly liked the multiple wave start and that you choose it when you sign up (as opposed to being assigned). Nice outdoor pool, plenty of room to queue up. The ride is a 2x loop with one sizable hill. The run is out-a...

This was my first triathlon and it was a good choice. I particularly liked the multiple wave start and that you choose it when you sign up (as opposed to being assigned). Nice outdoor pool, plenty of room to queue up. The ride is a 2x loop with one sizable hill. The run is out-and-back through a neighborhood and has a few hills too. Aid stations at 1/2 way to turn around and at turn around, water and electrolyte drink. Good crowds. If you're in an earlier wave there will be plenty of athletes still on course even if you are slow. Tons of snacks at finish. Transition is first come. The ride out/in and run out/in are both at the same corner of the area, so early arrivals get spots closer to in/out, later arrivals will be farther away. Loved the race, plan to do it every year.
