This was my 11th Great South Run since 2001 and sadly was probably the worst organised of them. There were two seperate areas far apart and It was difficult finding the appropriate Baggage Tent - signposts at both sites to indicate where the other one was would have helped immensely. The queue to drop off bags for Blue,Pink,Purple runners was way too long and disorganised. Toilet queues were disorganised and not at all clear that some where for urinals only (many women waited in line until reaching the front and having to join another one).

1st time at this event, it didn't disappoint, from start to finish the support staff were great, lovely course, The Victory, ran past an aircraft carrier, all the old buildings within the dockyards and the cobblestones, I now know what it's like to run on cobblestones :) the course itself was good but the crowd watching on and supporting the runners was great and honestly gave me a good push around mile 8, so thank you Portsmouth and to the crew of AJ Bell, I will be looking forward to adding this in to my run calander and running 2027 :)

I try to run every year, raising money for good causes, this time it was in memory of a dear friend we sadly lost, we ran for macmillan. I ran with my son for the first time, his first 10K, he did well and enjoyed the course, My work colleague also joined me and loved it. The supportive portsmouth community, drumming, music, cheering crowds, the route past iconic landmarks! what's not to love, I am local and look forward to this run every year. The atmosphere is fantastic, we had great weather and blue skies.

The emails before the race really push the park & ride saying buses run every 10 minutes. What they don’t tell you is that’s just to get there. When you want to get home & have finished the race at 12.30 you have to wait until 2.30 for the first bus back and there’s no signage at...
