One of the best races I’ve ever done. Incredible energy and great support! The only downside were the race numbers were of poor quality they fell apart so i carried it in my hand after 3 miles i was not the only one.so no race photos.

The whole event was well organised and enjoyable, The entertainment stations were all great and motivational. I developed an injury just after the 6 mile marker and managed to reach the end thanks to the fantastic support of the crowd and stewards offering me encouragement.

Once at the event the baggage drop was not easy to locate as there were no signs for it. The actual start for the pink wave meant a 45 minute wait, which was not a great way to start the run, being cold .

This is a great run, well supported with brilliant entertainment on the way around, the crowds are brilliant and the course is lovely flat one, from the start along the sea front, to taking you through the historic dockyard and back around Portsmouth, before heading back along the sea from to the finish. Loved the cheer board at around mile 8 - gives you a real boost and as a 10 miler, its a great stepping stone for anyone who wants to look to run further and do a half marathon.

Normal rain at the start; horizontal rain at the end. Even so, the marshalls and volunteers were still encouraging. Baggage area was a large marquee that you personally drop and picked up your bag. The course was very flat, the roads were wide and although the rain was immense there were no large puddles, reas that necessitated avoiding or potholes.

The numbers were very poor. They should be on waterproof paper that has been about for years. I saw many disintegrated numbers along the route. Not very good I am afraid.

Great race and fantastic course (terrible weather, but the organisers can’t be held responsible for that). However there was a half hour queue for the toilets before the race (they need to double the number of portaloos) and the catering facilities were almost non existent. One chip van, one burger van. Nothing healthy or even tasty, no coffee and the tiny cafes on the front were jam packed. With so many competitors and spectators I can’t help thinking the organisers are passing up the opportunity to turn this into a wonderful festival of running - there should be a wholesome food village, maybe in a big marquee. It would make a fortune but more importantly it would be very welcome. Also parking is really difficult. Runners are encouraged to use the P& R but there are only 600 spaces. We ended up having to park a mile and a half away and walking, which is the last thing I needed. I will do the race again but will take my bike in the boot of the car.

As it was raining, can the race numbers be made of Tyvek or another waterproof material, rather than paper? As they disintegrated! Apart from that, well organised run, thank you to all helpers and marshals.
