There are two race start times for the kids race which is split according to age but I am so glad that your daughter was able to enjoy her race in the end and it's lovely that you met our RD who was able to ensure that she didn't miss her race and also received her medal and haribo. In regards to the road closures, I am happy to assure you that the race is fully risk assessed. The race is licensed under England Athletics and, in order to obtain this licence we must ensure that we are fully compliant with their rules and regulations, especially in regards to road safety. This includes ensuring that there are 'Caution: Runners on Road' signage put up both on the course and on the roads and junctions leading into the course, many of which race participants would not see. We also have marshals placed in key and strategic positions to help slow traffic and guide runners safely. I do hope that this helps to reassure you of our compliance with official rules and the level of organisation that goes into keeping our runners safe throughout the race. Nothing is more important that that! We hope to see you again next year!
