The 2026 race felt extremely crowded with too many people. There were very narrow sections and with the vast amount of people taking part it made it extremely difficult to keep momentum. The first 8-9 miles felt like we were constantly dodging people and the waves seemed a bit disjointed regarding capabilities. Compared to AJ Bell Manchester, this route was difficult to navigate and uneasy in terms of safety as some adjacent roads we were running were still allowing cars, merely blocked off by cones.

The organisers did a excellent job, the only complaint was that there were far too many potholes on the course, perhaps they could ask the council to fill in those potholes just before the next GSR

Great atmosphere, great support, well organised, perhaps just too many runners, lots of people running in front of and around people to find a way through for a while. Loved the event just the same.
