After doing other events from this organization, it was our first Pilgrims Challenge. We travelled from the Netherlands with 4 of us. It was great to see the XNRG family back. As usual it was perfect organised, small, friendly and superb volunteers and of course an exciting trail with enough mud! We come back for sure! See you next time at the Druids or Pilgrims.

Another brilliant event from Neil and the team. Having done the Druids challenge last year I had no hesitation signing up for the Pilgrims. It was a tough course this year on the North Downs, conditions were perilous but that’s what we signed up for! I felt well looked after and well fed. These guys really know what works, the XNRG events are very inclusive and welcoming - great for first timers and it’s testament to the organisers as experienced runners keep returning! Great value, great vibes. Get involved !

Wow...what a race: soooo much mud but soooo much fun! I went so deep into the pain cave that I was adopted by a family of bats. However, the XNRG crew were so supportive and friendly that I managed to ruin myself with a smile on my face, knowing I was in safe hands. Great medics ...

Outstanding views, trails and fellow runners. Would highly recommend.

Had an absolutely brilliant day at Pilgrim Challenge. The atmosphere from the start was spot on really friendly, supportive and it felt like everyone was in it together rather than just racing past each other. The route itself was fantastic. Proper countryside running with great views and loads of variety. Huge credit to the XNRG and volunteerstoo! Hard, muddy, brilliant day out. I’ll definitely be back.

As a Dutch person, I don’t know whether this was an exceptionally muddy year or just standard Pilgrim conditions, but I’m really glad I didn’t miss it. On the first day, I had wet feet from start to finish and learned that they can actually handle it. The scenery is beautiful, and luckily I’ll have to come back at least once more to see the views without the mist and clouds, and to take it slow. This time, my inner Mr. Bean kept shouting, “It’s a race!” I met some great people along the way, though unfortunately I wasn’t staying overnight and missed the chance to connect more with fellow runners, it looked fun. So if you are doubting to stay overnight (or you a bringing your partner like me) make sure you do it! A big thank you to the organization and to all the friendly, helpful volunteers at the aid stations and at the finish line. I’ll be back.

What really stood out for me was the amazing volunteers, they were out in all weathers and always had a smile on their faces and provided us with a well need boost to get through the mud and challenging terrain. A fantastic group of people providing a fantastic experience. Hats off to them and XNRG.

The XNRG team are a special breed of marshals, orgenisers and generally all round good eggs. First time I've done the Pilgrim's Challenge, but I think I've done all the others at least once. Well organised, good value and super aid stations. The course was well marked with pink ribbons and arrows so those combined with the NDW route markers meant that getting lost would have been a challenge. Overnight food is really good, filling, nutritious and lots of it. Well done yet again. If they could flatten out the hills and dry the mud before we set off in future, that would be appreciated, but I suupose that might be asking a little too much even for them. Walking or running, you are well catered for and I would recommend their events to anyone wanting to try out ultra events without stress over timing or route marking. Well done again!!

I am a frequent flyer of Pilgrims as love the informal XNRG vibe. The team cannot do enough for you and make you feel special. The course is 33 miles to Redhill and day 1, then 33 mils back to Farnham on day 2. Point to point is always fun. North Downs course is beautiful but so tough, wet and muddy, this time of year, but then I loved being challenged. I always dread the 10.2 miles between CP1 and CP2 on day one- it feels long but is a flatter section; then there's the climb up Box Hill. Always enjoy the woody sections which fall just before the end on day 2-then you know you are nearly home.
