Thank you so much for sharing your experience – and well done on completing the Winter GMU after your Green Boy the year before! We’re really glad to hear the pre-race communication, volunteer support, and aid stations all made a difference on the day. It's especially lovely to hear that our finish line crew helped you feel welcomed and celebrated, even after a long day out in the cold – they’ll really appreciate your kind words. We’re thrilled you loved the medal (we love a big medal too!). We completely understand the point about colour options, and we’ll definitely take that on board going forward. We can’t wait to welcome you back in the summer for your buckle – it’ll be a special one!

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback, and huge congratulations on ducking under the 12-hour mark for your first time-critical ultra – that’s a fantastic achievement! We’re thrilled to hear the Time Lords, marshals, and overall atmosphere helped make the experience welcoming and supportive. Creating a space that’s inclusive for both newcomers and seasoned runners is really important to us, so your words mean a lot. We’re also really pleased you appreciated the option to skip the t-shirt – we know that matters to many, and we’re proud to offer that choice. And we’re delighted you liked the medal and certificate – it’s our way of marking the journey you’ve been on. We’d love to welcome you back again soon!

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. We appreciate that the weather this year created very tough conditions, particularly with the unexpected flooding. The waist-high water was not present during our course check the day before, and unfortunately, we’re not able to perform a full recce on the morning of the race due to time, access, and safety constraints. In some rural sections, alternative routes simply don’t exist, and we’re forced to rely on runners making cautious decisions on the ground. That said, we are actively looking into ways to improve our response to last-minute course changes in future. Regarding the aid stations and toilets: checkpoints 1, 2, 4, and the finish each have two toilets available. Checkpoint 3 does only have one, which we acknowledge can lead to waiting during busy periods – this is something we’re working to improve. However, checkpoint 3 is supplied by the White Horse pub, providing an effectively unlimited supply of food and drink, so we’re confident it would not have run out of supplies. We do make it a priority to overstock all stations to avoid exactly these situations. On the matter of the medal, we understand how disappointing it must have been not to finish after completing such a significant distance. However, our policy has always been that medals are awarded only to those who complete the event they entered. The Green Man and Green Boy are two separate races, with different start points and requirements, so unfortunately we are not able to offer a medal for a different race than the one entered. As for the t-shirt, the cost is included in the entry price, and any additional charge would have been solely for postage if the item was requested after the event. Lastly, we were saddened to see a 1-star rating for staff. Our volunteers and event team are consistently praised for their kindness, encouragement, and support on the day, and we’ve received no other complaints in this regard. We understand your disappointment, but we respectfully believe this doesn’t reflect the efforts of those on the ground who gave up their time to help every runner. We value all feedback and will continue to use it to improve the event. We wish you the best in your future ultra running adventures.

Thank you so much for your continued support – four Winter GMUs is seriously impressive! We're glad you embrace the mud and see it as part of the fun (we completely agree!). It’s great to hear the event feels like a proper throwback – that grassroots, no-fuss spirit is exactly what we aim for. Thanks again for the recommendation, and we’d love to see you back for a fifth round in the mud!
