First time at Holdenby Hall for Big Bear. Directions and parking straightforward. Usual friendly welcome with the start / finish aid station well stocked. Minor issue with course directions for the 10k but we were re-directed during the run and it was fine. Good medal and choice of drinks. Will be at the Big Bear event at Coombe in Coventry later in the month.

My first big bear event, and what a set up. If you want fun races, without that corporate cookie cutter style, big bear is for you. From the pre-event communication, to the aid stations, and a chat with the race director as we flopped down at the finish, the sense of humour and enjoyment to host these events was evident. Course itself was hard work, and rough underfoot, but it was never advertised as a fast marathon so this wasn’t a problem! Wortj a mention of a little routing confusion (over the 10km distance) but it seemed to be handled well by marshals. A good vibe all round, thanks for hosting.

Nice course with different types of terrain some of which was quite rough to run on especially after a long hot summer. Nice views around the course and the aid stations were great as were the marshals.
