This was my 2nd Big Bear event in as many weeks. I've not been to this venue before and it's really lovely. I hadn't fully read the blurb and hadn't clocked the hills until Paul's social media reels the day before - oh well. Whoops! Arrived to start at the later time of 10am as a Canicross entrant (running with dog) and a friend with her dog(s). Car park was busy on arrival but a lower car park was available. Toilets were unfortunately closed on the day but portaloos were available on the day instead; thank you for taking the financial hit with this last minute change and keeping everyone happy. The course was lovely and I will definitely come back. Thank you to the marshals who guided us around the tricky parts. The hills were hilly but we spent 2hr15mins running three laps and the time honestly went by so well and although the calves were aching from the hills, it didn't hugely feel like we'd run 16km. I loved the variety of the route; hills, forests, single tracks, open space with fields, next to a lake. The aid station treats and volunteers were wonderful, as always. Loved the option to stock up on more yummy raspberry flapjack from Leo's Bakery. Thank you. Do place an order in advance if you can; you won't regret it. Thank you, Paul, for the wonderful organisation again, thanks for ordering the lovely weather and see you again soon. Emily & Maddie.
