Great atmosphere, excellent aid stations, and lovely medal to receive. I may even do it again

Another superb event from Big Feat, blending their unmistakable friendly, low-key style with the professional aura and seemless logistics. A classic route mainly on the South Downs Way but with two deviations including the delightful foray out to East Meon and the extra challenge of Salt Hill. Good route marking and very nicely spaced aid stations. Lots of nice chats with other runners, it's always a nice crowd on these events. Nice atmosphere at the finish with the "classic" track finale. An excellent option for a first 50 miler or for more seasoned ultra runners looking for a start-of-season milestone.

This was my first 50mile race, having previously run lots of 50km events. It was an epic run through the South Downs, full of spectacular scenery. The trail was very easy to follow as it was mainly on the South Downs Way and Big Feat had put up lots of excellent signage so there was never any doubt about where you were supposed to go. The route was primarily on gravel paths with some softer and grassy tracks and a few lanes, but never any traffic. There was also a great mix of open hills, woods, streams, villages and farm tracks, so you never got bored. There was also enough competitors so you rarely felt like you were running alone, even towards the latter stages. The event, this year, was also helped by spectacular warm weather with wall-to-wall sunshine from start to finish. I just about finished before it was dark, but I wouldn't have wanted to be still out on the hills after dark! It was my first Big Feat event having been recommended them on another race, and everyone involved was really friendly. The marshals at the Check Points were very helpful, friendly and encouraging and there was a good range of snacks and drinks to help yourself to. The racetrack finish was also great and I liked that they let runners' children run round with them on their final lap! The organisers also treated you like old friends, even if it was your first run with them! There's nothing I would change about this event! Thanks for a great day.

The course was clearly and thoughtfully marked throughout, making navigation effortless even in the tougher sections. The event itself ran seamlessly from start to finish, with excellent organisation and a real sense of care in the details. Would absolutely recommend.

I would definitely recommend.

This was my first Ultra and was a fantastic event. The information provided ahead of time and on the website was great. The signage throughout the course was, I had downloaded the GPX to my watch anyway but the signs helped too! Aid stations were manned by friendly crew who filled flasks for me and always had time for a chat. The only possible improvement could come for spectators, my wife met me at various spectator/aid stations as suggested online/in pre event information but was sometimes unsure where to go from parking up to be able to see me, so spectator arrows could be a good addition. Overall, a brilliant event that was well organised, well stocked, and the medal is a piece of bling worth running 80km for!

A wonderful team of people look after the event; so relaxed, so friendly, super aid station stashes, loos where you need them, bus to start that was bang on time. Just a great set up which allows the runners to relax into it. One tiny request: a coffee van at the start, as well as the finish, would be lush! (I could have brought a flask and packed that into my bag for pickup, I know I know!) THANK YOU FOLKS!
