The standard of the feed station was disgraceful with the 2nd feed having only energy gels and drinks with only dry cream crackers and cheap crisps!! The other stations were fully stocked but to provide an athletic event with the cheapest sweet products (blue riband, kitkats) alongside only crackers with cheese, and cold potatoes was a joke! Paying over £50 for this means I cannot recommend the event and indeed will vocally tell others to avoid. Plenty of other sportives done at similar price or cheaper with better stations. I will not be back or to other ATW events

Hi David. I'm sorry you felt disappointed by the feed station and will forward this feedback to the event organisers. Thanks for your feedback.

It would have been good if we could have had access to toilets and some food (e.g., bananas) at the start. I gave safety a 4 star because as a group we made it safe but the narrow, winding Chiltern lanes, with many potholes and lots of loose gravel are never safe. Not a lot the organisers can do about that though. It was highlighted in the morning briefing.

One toilet at the food stops!!!! Quite a small starting area. Poor post-ride ‘goodie bag’. Otherwise well organised, well informed, generally good route (bar some odd small lanes littered in pot holes) and friendly staff/volunteers.

The feed station at Chiltern Velo was poor, particularly compared to other local evens such as DENS Hill Buster. Toilet provision was also poor. Otherwise it was a good event and I enjoyed it.

There was one section somewhere between Chiltern Velo and Lacey Green where we went down a steep hill to a cross roads. We were near the front of the event and in a small group but it still felt like it needed some more safety/warnings at the junction. Then on the other side of the junction we went up the hill and there was no direction arrow at the top for anyone that hadn't got the route on a device. Because we knew there had been some changes to the course, we hesitated there. Otherwise, a great day out, and all the volunteers were friendly, chatty and interested in how participants were getting on. Well done ATW and Verulam CC!

I really enjoyed this edition of the famous Chiltern 100. ATW did a fantastic job of hosting the Verulum CC event this year. Excellent feed stations, clear signage (as well as GPX routes for download) and helpful marshalling. Lots of goodies from High 5 too! The course takes in all the iconic climbs of the Chilterns. Take your time and enjoy the rests at the feed stations as the climbs are challenging. The longest route of 180km is a real challenge even for experienced riders, but shorted 130km and 80km routes are great to do also.
