Superb event! Really well marked and the support staff were wonderful. Shout out to the announcer who did a great job getting the energy up beforehand and helping with celebrations at the finish line. Communication around the event was spot on. There were quite a few bottlenecks on the first part of the course but hard to avoid that really, no fault of the organisers.

The weather was better than was forecast yet we'd had no communication in the days before that cancelling the marathon and ultra distances was a possibility. Even on the day, I'd queued for 20 or 30 minutes before I found out. Registration logistics were also poor, with not enough time given to register everyone before the planned start time.

Pretty disappointed overall, months of training and money coming down from Scotland for this to be told the race wouldn’t be on 30minutes before it started. There appeared to be no plan B or low level route which most other organisers would have had, only able to run the half marathon. Offered £40 of my next maverick race as compensation which I won’t be taking them up on.

The event was poorly organised, long queue to collect number as no day before collection was available and this made the start of the race delayed together with only 5 porter loo for almost 400 people not good enough. Also the outpost station were ok but for this kind of race was expecting to have a little more stuff and food. The end setup was also ok but nothing extremely nice. The course was technically difficult but great views and fun
