The marshals who cheered us on were great. Unfortunately, there were a couple of negative points. According to the joining instructions there was due to be a briefing 10 mins before the start. If one did take place, neither I nor those standing around me heard anything of it. Se...

The marshals who cheered us on were great. Unfortunately, there were a couple of negative points. According to the joining instructions there was due to be a briefing 10 mins before the start. If one did take place, neither I nor those standing around me heard anything of it. Secondly, there was no audible indication, such as a count-down or gun firing to indicate that the race had started. I only knew because, being rather tall, I could see the front runners start off over runners in front of me.

Brilliant marshals and other support staff. Only comment would be about trail cyclists coming through the start/finish area - not sure what you’d do about that though! I am told be a friend that at one point behind me, a sign fell down and was put back up by a walker, but facing the wrong direction lol so I’d say just make sure any signs are secure

The medal was brilliant. I’ve not run many hills so the gradient and the weather made it tough but of course you feel amazing at the end! Very welcome parking discount worked well. Concerns: no mobile phone signal gave a real concern as my boyfriend at home was worried about me...

The medal was brilliant. I’ve not run many hills so the gradient and the weather made it tough but of course you feel amazing at the end! Very welcome parking discount worked well. Concerns: no mobile phone signal gave a real concern as my boyfriend at home was worried about me. Also: the event could benefit from outdoor coffee vans? There was a large queue at the indoor cafe so we tried to queue but then left.

The course on the day was horrendously muddy and for a first timer runner I feel like more information about the route conditions could have been provided. Not sure if there’s a Facebook page for photos etc or u would have worn different shoes. The bib collection was directly in the start line which made it impossible to get to as I arrived about 20 mins before the start time I couldn’t get to the tent for all the people waiting to start. Only 3 parking machines working in a massively busy car park meant we were stood for half an hour waiting to pay to get out! The postcode on the email directed me to the visitor centre at the big oak so took me to the wrong place and caused a 10 min delay also. Just put go ape as the parking location to avoid confusion. Wouldn’t put me off doing it again now I know but as a first time entry there were lots of niggles for me personally.

By far one of the better organised races I've taken part in. Just the right amount of information without overloading. Number / race pack arrived early. Marshalls and organisers were helpful, encouraging and friendly. And, extra points for starting the race bang on time. Nothing worse than doing a good warm up then having to stand on the start line listening to the RD inflict their personality on you for 15 minutes. So thank you for that. Highly recommend this race. Will 100% do it again.
