A really nicely organised race with very friendly staff and marshalls. The race itself was incredible hilly, steep and long - a bit brutal and an insane choice for my first half marathon! But we got through it and the medal and biscuits at the end were very welcome. Thanks to all who helped with the event and were so kind and encouraging. The woodlands are stunning, especially att that time of year- a gorgeous Autumnal day so that was lovely to experience too.

The course is fantastic. Mix of gravel, road, mud, leaves, roots - real countryside variation. Great views. Great marshals/volunteers. Its tough, I'd never run a marathon, this is a tough one to start on. No regrets though.

Course was about 250m short of 10k (just started a sprint finish and I was over the line), positions of some of the km markers was off by quite a lot. Run was well marked out otherwise but start not obvious from the car park. Marshaling was very good. Will do it again next year.

Hello Ben, Thank you for taking part in Wendover. I am sorry to hear that you found the course to be slightly short. Due to the trail nature of this course, it is not accurately measured but is as accurate as GPS will allow. On races such as this and where a certificate of course accuracy is not possible, our system co-ordinates several different GPS devices to get the most accurate distance available. However, there are occasions when individual GPS trackers report a slightly different result. Positioning on the inside/outside of the trail will also have an impact. We hope that this did not diminish your enjoyment of race day and we would love to welcome you back to the start line again next year.
