Comms before the race was good, likes the use of an optional WhatsApp group. Race admin was easy on the day and the checkpoints were well spaced to reduce the chance of going wrong. All marshals were friendly and helpful. Great race and well organised. Will definitely do more ...

Very poor markers and marshalling after CP 6. Lots of runners going the wrong way and didn't complete the full course. A few of us ended up running extra due to poor lack of markers and marshalls. I know we had maps but an few extra markers pointing you in the right direction would have helped. There was definitely around 5-6 runners who cut off about 1 mile. Great Owl running events are usually very good and I've not had an issue with any other of their events.

I was very nervous about this race and I was very impressed by the reassurance the RD gave me at the start and then also at the race briefing. The route was challenging but beautiful and at times the sun shone making it warm and thoroughly enjoyable. The Marshalls were really helpful, especially towards the end when they warned about running fast over rough terrain when you are tired. Don’t take this the wrong way, but it was so good to take part in a low key event. So many races (even parkruns) have hundreds of participants and this was enjoyable in part because there were not hoards of runners. Everyone was very friendly. I’ll definitely be recommending this race and will be back next year. Thank you for such a great day.

This was my first Great Owl Running event. The staff were friendly and helpful. Fantastic atmosphere and other runners were supportive. The tail runner was amazing! Will definitely join more Great Owl events in the future. Thank you.

It is a proper fell race , one of the best and very inspiring . I told Adam that the Chevin Forest Fell Race in the near future will be a popular fixed appointment of the FRA calendar .
