Long lines at the port a potties before the full marathon. Not enough water stations on the full marathon route after mile 13. With the hot temps needed more water and wet cloths further out along N. Hastings Way/Bus 53.

I have run the Eau Claire half marathon about 8 times and it gets better and better every year! It is easily my favorite race! Everything about it is amazing, from the registration to crossing the finish line.

Best marked course ever! Never felt the need to worry I wasn’t going the right way. Volunteers confused with water and electrolytes at several stops (I know they’re volunteers, but they should have basic knowledge of which is which and not be chatting and ignoring the runners)....

Best marked course ever! Never felt the need to worry I wasn’t going the right way. Volunteers confused with water and electrolytes at several stops (I know they’re volunteers, but they should have basic knowledge of which is which and not be chatting and ignoring the runners). Course was better than I expected. Good post race food and plenty of photo opportunities. Medal could be better. Would recommend race to others.

I'm honestly incredibly disappointed by this race. There were multiple issues, but the biggest issue is that they ran out of water at the roughly mile 13-14 water station and left marathon runners stranded without water for almost 5 whole miles. I almost dropped out of the race at that point and ended up having to walk the majority of the second half of the race because I was so dehydrated. I even stopped at a medical station to ask for water and they told me to wait until the next water station "around the bend" which was much farther. Additionally, almost the entire course is in the sun, with few shaded areas and little support to assist with a long run in the sun (no sunscreen stations, additional water stations, sprinkler access, etc.). Maybe I've just been incredibly privileged in the previous races I've run, but I was so incredibly disappointed in this race. I will not be returning.

This was my first race and I was blown away by how well it was prepared. Staff and volunteers were awesome, and the cheering (especially the Blugold Mile) helped push through the last few miles.
