Really good event, well organised. All routes very clearly marked & marshalled, lots of great support. A great race for first timer at this distance. Over very pleased with event setup and how it ran.

A big thank you to organisers and marshals. It was an early start. Water quality was really good, very clear. A bit shallow on the far side of the lake. I was worried about vehicles on the open course but it was not a problem at all. Well designed route and an early start kept any conflicts to a minimum. I'd have appreciated a bit more info on water temperature in the week preceding the event and I found the first few hundred metres of the run a bit confusing, but these are niggles. Overall, a great day and will put it in the calendar for next year.

Fantastic event for a first timer. Really was outstanding quality of the lake itself. Marshalls were brilliant and accommodating. I would definitely recommend doing this to anyone interested in Triathlons. Will be back again.

A really fun event for my first Aquabike. Clean and well marshalled swim. Well marshalled bike ride. I really enjoyed the race and would definitely recommend it to others. The option for mass start or gradual start (3 athletes every couple of seconds) was great as a first time competitor. The biggest disappointment was the lack of ‘Finish’ for the Aquabike. Those who completed the full triathlon ran down the orange carpet, through the finishers archway to commentary and cheers. Aquabike re were ushered around with some staff not knowing where we were supposed to go. My friend also won the Aquabike but he was not given or told about the trophies that top 3 placed triathletes seemed to get.

I'd just like to extend a huge thank you to everyone helping out at the 51Fiver. Having gone from the relief that we would be able to get the swim leg in (following mist on the lake), my race went rather downhill when I hit a pothole fairly early into the bike leg (fortunately managed to fix the resulting flat) before having my calf give up on me pretty much as I started the run leg (I was considering quitting there and then with an aquabike effectively completed (but I came for a medal, and a medal I was going to pick up!). The marshals were both wonderfully supportive and concerned (I looked rather pathetic limping through pretty much the entire 10k) - and one of the ladies at the water stop even took the time to give said calf a massage (my thanks specific to this). Great event - I hope to be problem-free next time!

Great event, well organised, very inclusive & well supported. No course or transition area congestion. A few interim sighting buoys between the main ones would be great as there were long distances between the buoys which made sighting tricky.
