This was my first Outlaw experience. The event was Awesome! Absolutely great day and experience. So many positives that I'm not sure where to start. Great information and communication leading up to the day. The day as a whole was amazing. The staff and volunteers were so supportive and professional. They were also fun and so helpful and keen to sort out any issues or answer questions that arose. From arrival to leaving for home everything seemed to be thought out and covered.
The transition area was well organised and had private areas for people to fully change. The swim-bike run courses were well set up (very good signage and manning of the course turns etc. Feed stations on bike and run courses were excellent. Volunteers did a fantastic job catering for needs and encouraging the athletes. Food for the finishers was spot on! I could list loads more, but will finish with something I thought was absolutely brilliant at the end.
At a lot of events, this usually go a bit quiet towards the end of the race when the last finishers are coming in. But the opposite happens at Outlaw - the crowd gathers at the orange carpet, people form an arch way and cheer the last person in to a huge ovation, nd then the fireworks start after they cross the line. Brilliant!!
Loved the day, the atmosphere, the organisation and everyone involved.
Also, kudos to a lot of the elite competitors who encouged the rest of us to keep going, as they passed us on the loop. Good effort!!
