I completed the Bluebell Bash Half Marathon on Sunday and what a joyful, memorable run it was. The route carried us over rolling hills, through pockets of beautiful bluebell woods, past the unmistakable smell of fresh wild garlic, and alongside stunning fields of bright yellow rapeseed. Every mile offered something new to enjoy, with views that truly lifted the spirit. A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising such a wonderful event. Special thanks to Natalie from Metalworks for creating such a beautiful medal , a real keepsake and to Phil for capturing the day so perfectly on camera. The only part I didn’t enjoy was navigating the hard tractor marks, which felt more like an assault course than a running surface, but even that couldn’t take away from the overall experience. I’ll definitely be booking again for next year and can’t wait to return.

Great off road event, relaxed atmosphere. I thought the signage was good for the 10km race, although a couple of people did go wrong....it was probably that they weren't concentrating.

I really loved the route, which was especially good for canicross as there was no livestock or stiles. I liked that the aid station had a water bowl for the dogs; a few at the end would have been welcome, too , as the car parking was a way off. The thing I would change is to...

I really loved the route, which was especially good for canicross as there was no livestock or stiles. I liked that the aid station had a water bowl for the dogs; a few at the end would have been welcome, too , as the car parking was a way off. The thing I would change is to start the canicross waves 15 minutes before the non-dog runners to avoid overtaking in the narrow, wooded sections. I always worry about annoying people or worse, tripping them up; it also seemed that quite a few people were wearing earbuds or headphones and might not have heard me coming up behind them. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will recommend to my friends in Canicross Somerset.

Well organised but the results did not show the club so it was impossible to see which of our runners had competed. I was completely missed off the results. The water station for the 10k was at 4 miles so it was a bit late.
