This was my forth event and what an amazing event, great circuits, great set up some friendly people EXCEPT… staff in t1/t2 area made it horrible to be in that area, the way they shouted and spoke to some people it wasn’t smiles and have a great race it was literally they have a job to do so enforced it and rightly so they had a job to do but wow overkill, I was on edge every time I went into that area I was more worried about getting told off then doing what I needed to do.. I was told I couldn’t race as a cap in handle bar end was missing hadn’t realised and was hardly world ending easily could be fixed but arms were waving and massive fuss made over that.. end of event people collecting their bits and saw two girls phoning home next to me to say how happy and excited they was to have finished the race, a woman who worked there (who had already gone in on me twice) told them and I quote “if this had been earlier I’d have been shouting at you to get off your phones” but it wasn’t it had finished and that’s still how they was I get they had a job but come on…several more incidents in there that’s just a few mentions. side note swimming pool and run staff were incredible!! Every corner on the ride staff were cheering, that one horrible middle bit is outweighed by everyone else so would definitely return just in hope those same staff weren’t there again… gutted didn’t get many photos I thought I saw the cameraman loads but only a couple uploaded and none of the ride (even the support rider had more than me lol) but that’s not a big deal thankyou to the staff and organisers who made it a great event.

Really good event. Not well signed on the day for arrival at the event which was a bit annoying. Pool start was supposed to be every 30secs however without notice it went to 15 seconds so i nearly missed my slot. Swim was good, being a 50mtr pool. Marshalls and signs for bike leg was well organised. I lost my Garmin watch off my bike so big thank you to the team for going that extra mile to locate it and return it to me. Run leg was flat and a decent route. In summary, this is a good tri especially if your a beginner. For those of us who have done a few, this is a good little race just to blow cobwebs off or to test out new equipment. Great looking medal for finishers. I will be looking at this event next season.

Disappointing change to the bike course (from 27km to 18km) just a couple of days before the race changed the nature of the event significantly for me (I entered because I am a very strong cyclist and it was a longer than usual bike course). I also thought that given the small number of competitors, the transition could have been 'open' throughout the event as is common for sprint tri's and the start times could've been communicated beforehand, thus allowing for more a stagger in registration and a later registration for later starters (the 4:30am alarm is usually reserved for Ironman races). Disappointing that there were no Age Group prizes (or even Vets prizes) either. Having said all of that, the event was well organised on the day, great value for money, the facilities were top notch (nice swimming in a 50m pool) and the volunteers and fellow competitors were friendly and welcoming.

Another great ATW event, helpful and friendly staff/marshals. On course marshals encouraging. Great venue and facilities before, during, and after. Pool swim was a bit strange but worked well, snake from one lane to the next until you get to last lane to exit. Bike route was changed leading up to event, but ATW informed me before hand and all communication was clear and received well in advance. Route was undulating out and back. Run is on grass on the playing fields. Transition area is on grass, so nice unxerfoot. Overall this is a great Triathlon and suited for all abilities and I will definately be doing it again
