We signed up for this as a challenge to aim for for my daughter doing her Duke of Edinburgh award. We had no idea what to expect and had no formal training, just lots of practice. I almost dropped out at the last minute as I thought I would be no match for lots of super fit hard...

We signed up for this as a challenge to aim for for my daughter doing her Duke of Edinburgh award. We had no idea what to expect and had no formal training, just lots of practice. I almost dropped out at the last minute as I thought I would be no match for lots of super fit hardy swimmers. I was glad I didn't. It was very well organised, very supportive and I didn't feel at all out of place with my clunky breast stroke. I didn't even come last! My daughter was so proud of herself for completing the 1500m. Thanks to all the organisers and life guards, appreciated

This was my first open water swimming event and I thought it was very well organised and enjoyable. There was a high emphasis on safety, which was reassuring. The course was laid out logically. To exit the sea you do need to climb some steps, before you clock out. Overall I would recommend this event to any open water swimming beginners, who are looking to challenge themselves.

Loved this race, and not just because the weather was kind to us. Had huge regrets booking twice the distance of last time, but the flat water, a bit of peer pressure, reassurance of lifeguards who looked like they could pull me out and an excellent race brief all made me get in....

Im fairly new to these events but found the organisation excellent, communication was clear detailed and timely, safety was obviously given priority and the marshalls were friendly, extremely helpful and encouraging, it was a very enjoyable day.

After grim, grey weather, wind and strong rain the day before it was a beautiful, bright, sunny, calm morning. Top class race management when even the weather could be sorted out. :-) I will come back and do one of the longer swims next year. (I have done sea swim full ironmen triathlons in the distant past, but I've never felt so comfortable during a sea swim, the water really was a treat!) I was asked to rate the facilities, but as I got changed under a dry robe I didn't use the facilities so can't give them any rating with any experience. I gave them marks for sustainability because they give you an option not to receive a t-shirt. An option not to receive a medal would have also seemed a good idea too. In terms of this feedback platform, I think it could be improved by not requiring my email! I don't appreciate having personal data stored by another party.
