Great communication in the lead up and also after the event, relaxed and friendly atmosphere pre-race, amazing aid stations (food, toilets, volunteers). Course incredibly easy to navigate. Flat course good for beginners but still has some challenging enough elements for intermediate/experienced ultra runners. All in all an excellent event. Highly recommend.

As my first ultra I was nervous, but the event team were great. Warm shouts at all the food stations and a friendly event director. The pre race information was excellent- detailed and regular, giving you all the information you needed (much, much better than some other event examples I could name!). A beautiful route mostly along the cycle way and canals, not too hilly for a first ultra and with well stocked food stations. Would highly recommend.

Well stocked stations (real Coca Cola!) great Marshall’s, and nice little detailed touches like the RD’s phone number on every direction sign in case of emergency. Really well marked course makes it impossible to get lost. Beer and flapjack at the end! Big Bear Events living up to its own high standards once again! Can’t wait for the next event in 2 weeks

Another great Big Bear Event! They certainly know how to look after their runners, from comprehensive pre-race information via email, detailed on-the-day briefing, a clear and fully marked course, great volunteers and excellent aid stations. Not to mention a lovely medal, excellent flap jack and a choice of post-race beverage. If you haven't done a Big Bear Event, you really should!

Lovely event, generally flat with only a few slight inclines and mostly pleasant countryside to look at. Marshalls and Aid Stations were fantastic.

What a brilliant day out as my first Ultra. Pre-race organisation was superb and the race registration was smooth and friendly. All of the volunteers at the aid stations were really very friendly and supportive which really helped to keep the motivation going deep into the run. Don’t let the relative flatness of the course deceive you, as the section following the canal is a tough challenge to keep you on your toes, and the course overall provides a good challenge for the experienced and novice alike. Aid stations were plentiful and very well stocked with a brilliant range of food and drink. Run HQ at the end provided a really warm welcome, with lots of cheering , and more food and drink for the weary runner. Thoroughly recommend this event to anyone considering their first ultra, or simply looking for an alternative to the usual killer hilly ultras already out there.

Paul pulled it off again!! (including the weather!) I ran this in 2021 as my first Ultra and thoroughly enjoyed it. (Okay, maybe that wasn't what I was saying during the last 10k!!) This year was just as good. Lots of pre race info, great organisation and very clear signposting - which is brilliant for me as I've been known to get lost on a beach out and back! What REALLY stood out yet again were the amazing aid stations. The volunteers really go above and beyond - I don't think I've ever felt so special when running an event. The course itself is mostly flat - some road, some woods, past Draycote Water and then along the canal. I would say it's a really good one for a first Ultra experience. I've always found Big Bear Events to be really friendly and inclusive - especially when thinking of ways to encourage more women to take part. Oh, and I have to finish by saying once again - the volunteers are AMAZING!
