It was a great race - well organised, great route with some challenging ups and downs for someone from the fens, great vibe in the event village. A few more recycling bins in the event village would have made it close to perfect.

I ran this race in 2025. It's the second Maverick Race I've competed in and both times navigation has been an issue. There really is no valid excuse for the miniscule size of the navigation arrows on the course. After missing a turn I went off track to discover I'd missed a sign on the floor that was the size of a postcard. Once you're running and in your rhythm it's easy to miss such small signage. There were times earlier in my race where I wasn't sure I was on the right track due to lack of signage. This greatly reduced my ability to enjoy this race. Not everyone can afford a GPS watch and fumbling around with your phone is not fun either. Everything else was excellently organised. All this race needs is larger signage (A3 would suffice) and it would be a vast improvement.

Maverick events are always incredibly well organised and staffed. The level of care and comfort before and after the event is always outstanding. All the routes are STUNNING! Even in the dark !! Thanks again Mav Bucks - will be back again soon

The biggest problem is the issues with separating out the different courses. The start waves were confused causing early congestion and there was no system for verifying who ran which course, making a mockery of the results.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review Julie.the inky reason we stagger the start in this event is due to the early pinch point which would cause queues within the first km. in-terms of verifying who runs which course - the only way of doing this would be with GPS trackers which isn’t really feasible for an event if this distance so like most races we trust that people run what they’re signed up for unless they tell us otherwise. We like to think that most people are honest and in 8 years haven’t really been disappointed with that. You feedback is welcomed though as we’re always looking at ways to improve your experience.
