first time at this event. love running in the woods at night so this suited me down to the ground! very well organised. never seemed chaotic. was so nice to be able to park so close so could wear extra layers till a few minutes before starting. super easy to find the bibs, food, ...

first time at this event. love running in the woods at night so this suited me down to the ground! very well organised. never seemed chaotic. was so nice to be able to park so close so could wear extra layers till a few minutes before starting. super easy to find the bibs, food, start line. Lots of fires to keep warm before and after, food was delicious. Some great drinks and snacks handed to me at the end. loved the route, exactly as expected, hilly, muddy and fun! marshalls very strategically placed at points you could easily miss a turn. barely had to check my gpx, there were enough markers and ribbons. All staff friendly and helpful. Super easy to drive away at the end with no bottle necks or traffic. felt looked after from beginning to end. will bring family next year!! wasnt a problem and wasnt something organisers could control, but i didnt have phone reception or 4g at all, so if you were trying to contact someone to meet or collect, that might be a problem, so plan before hand. There may have been a spot that worked. Will be adding this to my diary for next year!!

This was my first dark run and I was really looking forward to it. However the amount of rain we had had over previous days, together with the course being run earlier in the day, the course was in places extremely difficult to navigate, steep hills and very slippery mud. There were times when we weren't sure of the direction we should be going in. Originally we were doing the long race, however due to the time it had taken us, as we had to walk more than run, we changed to the middle distance. I think it would have been a great race if the course hadn't been so muddy.

Fun event, with good atmosphere. Perfect weather for a night run! This years short course was less adventurous/easier than when I did same event a few years ago. Couldn't hear the announcements before the start ( which was the same as last time) which meant many runners were caught by surprise when we started, and there was no starting gun or hooter. To help the bottleneck in first km or so, it would be better to stagger the starts, so the longer course starts first , shorter course last as many multi-distance races do including other Maverick day races.

Maverick races are so well organised, I love the festival village feel. The course was well laid out and clear signage, hats off to the incredible volunteers. I had so much fun and cannot wait for next year. Well done guys another fab event.
