I feel that no toilets at any point along the race course is not acceptable, particularly for the female runners. When i asked about this I recieved comment that I should have trained my body to handle this. My body was menstrating, dealing with nerves, strain... this caused me a discomfort on raceday that totally could have been avoided with maybe two portaloos on the way! I have been to many races all over Europe and never experienced this. Aid stations had no fruit only gummy bears and water! Obviously i packed my own but STILL. I have to say all of the other staff were very friendly and encouraging and I am very pleased with the free photos! Please email in advance about bone conducting headphones, just having it om Faqs is not enough! I had a shock on the day.

After two failed marathon attempts in 2025 — an injury the week before Paris, and then the Cape Town Marathon being cancelled while I was literally on the start line — I opted for a low‑key event this time just to finally get that elusive second marathon under my belt. I had a great start, was bang on pace, and feeling strong throughout. Unfortunately, at a split point I was sent the wrong way by a marshal and ended up finishing around four miles short. I’m deeply disappointed and frustrated by this, and honestly starting to feel a bit cursed when it comes to marathons. I’ve since seen other reviews where runners were also sent the wrong way at the same split point, with some even ending up running 48km. That junction clearly needs much better organisation. That said, aside from this issue, I really loved the course and it was a beautiful day to run. As others have mentioned, an extra toilet or two on the course wouldn’t go amiss — I had to duck into a field at around 30km!

The scenery was outstanding. It is a lovely, scenic route that is at its best in early Spring. Logistics were very good: plenty of parking, plenty of space at the start/ finish area. It’s also a varied, challenging course but maybe not ideal for beginners as parts of the route ar...

The atmosphere was exhilarating. Great compere ing . I think the Kent Spring half marathon (or marathon if you’re brave enough) is a sporting calendar staple. Best of all ..there’s a wider community benefit. Love it!
