I participated in the 20 Miles in Oundle on 01/03/2026. First of all, thank you very much for the wonderful experience and the fantastic organisation. The event was extremely well organised — from the information provided in the weeks leading up to the race, to the arrangements before the start, during the race, and at the finish. I did not receive my race number by post, probably because I live in Belgium, so I picked up a new one at the reception desk. One small point of attention: the drop‑off bag area was not covered. A small tent would have been useful in case of rain (although that was not the case now — the sun was even shining) to help keep clothing and other items dry. There was a friendly, warm welcome and a cosy, relaxed atmosphere. According to my sister, who took part in the 10K, the hamburgers and the hot chocolate were also delicious! I also really appreciated that, as a “slow” runner who mainly wants to enjoy the run and the surroundings, I could fully participate. Other events often have a cut‑off time or attract only fast runners, making regular recreational runners hesitate to join. This time, however, I was surrounded by about 50 people with the same mindset. You never feel alone or rushed to finish as quickly as possible. And finally: the medal could easily compete with the New York Marathon medal in terms of size and weight! 😉

A beautiful but challenging route. A great course and distance if you are training for a marathon.The water stations were excellently located. The marshalls on route were extremely supportive. One lovely lady marshall helped me at one point as I was in a bit of discomfort with my lymphoedema. It helped me to carry on and complete. It was great meeting other runners on route and giving each other words of support. Well organised, great communication on the run up of the race. Signposted really well (must have been good for me not to have got lost. 😁)No complaints, not even about the hills in the beautiful areas. Job done. Thank you.

Great race, great Marshall’s and lovely medal. I just think for the money paid a properly managed and covered bad drop ought to be provided and a bit more than a cup of water and a bourbon at the end. It would be better if the school hall could be available for changing and baggage and toilet facilities.

Lovely route, friendly marshalls, and well sign posted apart from the last km where you had to run on a small busy road, the finish wasn't clear at all and loads of people surrounding it so no sprint finish. I'd also like to see an option to not take a medal in the registration form.

Not enough toilets and the queue was long. One water station wasn't ready for the runners. Table had no cups or water ready which caused a bottleneck at the drinks station. Also no bin to dispose of the plastic cups so these were thrown everywhere by the runners. Medal is fantastic. T shirt ok. Not enough marshals on route.
