What stood out: Great support staff on the day who were helpful and enthusiastic. Post event snacks were exactly what you needed. Course was as described, simple, somewhat boring but safe and easy to navigate. Parking was plentiful and close to course. Having actual proper toilets (rather than porter loo was great). The official cheerleader in the pink blanmanche suit worked her heart out cheering people - super job!
But.. Upon arrival at dawn in pitch dark and misty morning it was hard to find the event entrance - more signage required. Lack of any bag drop was difficult if you were a lone participant without supporter. A pop up coffee shop near start line would've been good. Approx. 50m after the start gun I had to hurdle a large traffic cone, nearly falling and that would have finished my race before it started. Such a wide to then narrow start was impossible to see if you are short and mid-pack.
Finish line wasn't inspiring and my husband said it gave nothing to spectators to applaud you in (or even to really spectate easily anywhere on the course)
