This was my first ultra and this was a really good introduction to this crazy hobby! Perhaps it didn't go as I had hoped- but I learned a lot! Got a little lost in the woods (twice) but found the course otherwise well sign posted. The organisers and Marshalls were very friendly and supportive. Good atmosphere. Was as I expected - tough, challenging and (when the memories of pain recede) I would say really enjoyable. I feel I have some unfinished business and so will be back!

Even has amazing course, so well marked and easy to navigate, View along the run are incredible, and there is a good support. this is a great event for first time trail and ultra runners, but equally very enjoyable to come back. this was my 3rd time at Tring and every time such good fun. Thanks team!

Great event with a real community spirit. Only slight hitch was the course marking through Wendover Woods where a lot people pass through, the route had been tampered with in two different spots.

I entered the 27k (27.85k per my gps!) as my first ever 'longer distance' event since taking up running 11 months ago - I was pretty nervous and didn't know what to expect. From arrival the organisation was excellent, with very welcoming staff who made it really easy and clear what I needed to do to get ready. The course was fantastic, with a real mixture of terrain from some paved roads to canal path, gravel trails, fields and woodland pathways, and varied scenery which always kept things interesting and provided some wonderful Chiltern views. The course was really well marked - I never had doubt about which way I should go - even when I was zoning out during the latter stages. The aid stations were well stocked with a good variety of snacks and had very friendly staff who even took and filled my water bottle for me! There was also a really nice selection of cakes provided at the finish which took the edge off of the inevitable post-run discomfort. Overall the day was an excellent experience which will stay in the memory - I would certainly recommend this as a relaxed and friendly event to other newbies like myself who are thinking of giving trail races a go. It's even better knowing that the event supported a great cause. I plan to come back for more XNRG events in the future!

Really enjoyable event like all the XNRG events with a nice well marked out course and well-stocked aid stations with lovely friendly volunteers.

A well organised race with genuinely friendly aid station staff who give you the necessary support. They care, and that makes a different when you are in pain!

Really well run event as usual from XRNG. Everything from registration, to course markings through to great aid stations. Staff are a delight. Cannot fault any event that I have been to with XRNG!

The best day! One of the best I’ve ran - super clear markings which for someone like me who is incapable of following a map (!), that was super reassuring!

I really liked the event itself with nice organisers. A few things that I did not rate that much and I will convey this to the organisers directly
