This was advertised as a hard (5/5) ride and that is how I found it. This was my first organised ride so I didn’t know what to expect but everything from signing up to completion of the event was brilliant. The feed stations were well stocked and, had I known, meant that I could have carried less food than I did. Now I know. I did have to add another 1.1km to make it to 100 miles and I recorded 2942m ascent but that obviously includes non-graded climbs which did make me cry a little bit. Overall I found it a really hard but enjoyable ride that I would recommend.

A great route through the stunning Peak District, just long enough considering the hills. One feed station on the Short route which was enough. Plenty of free parking and easy and quick registration before getting started on the ride. Staff were helpful and signs were plentiful w...

A great route through the stunning Peak District, just long enough considering the hills. One feed station on the Short route which was enough. Plenty of free parking and easy and quick registration before getting started on the ride. Staff were helpful and signs were plentiful with mechanical backup and Marshalls on motorbikes. When all the uphills were done it was a nice downhill freewheel in for the last couple of miles which made a great end to the event. well done!

The route was very challenging as you would expect in the Peak District however what was provided at the feed stations fell far short of what you would expect for such an event and entry fee.

It was an extremely well run event - a great day out. I thought the route was well sign-posted, clear and easy to follow, with warning signs in all the right places. Wherever there was a specific hazard, or reasonable risk, there was always a motorcycle marshal present to warn ...

It was an extremely well run event - a great day out. I thought the route was well sign-posted, clear and easy to follow, with warning signs in all the right places. Wherever there was a specific hazard, or reasonable risk, there was always a motorcycle marshal present to warn of the impending danger - such as a sharp bend on a steep downhill section, or an upcoming main road crossing the route. The only thing I would have liked, given the bitingly cold temperatures throughout the day, would have been hot drinks at the feed stations. Also, it wasn't clear how anyone at the far-flung reaches of the course would get home if they had had to stop due to cold or fatigue (although I am sure recovery from a feed station would have been arranged for them). All in all, an excellent day and an outstanding, wisely chosen route taking in some of the finest cycling the Peaks has to offer. Thank you to everyone involved.
