Great event in a lovely part of the country. The out and back on the Monsal Trail is a perfect route. Friendly atmosphere and our group of four really enjoyed our run. It’s unavoidably a bit congested at start and finish area after the run but not on the run with a modest field and wide track. One small suggestion would be a 5k marker in the turnnng code for the 10k. Thank you for organising a great event and festival, ace medal

Lovely flat half marathon great for first timer. loved the jaffa cakes and sweets at the water stations! start and finish area could be better very busy with finished runners standing in way of those trying to finish! would have been nice to have some refreshments available for spectators or those waiting for other runners - no coffee, tea or anything on a cold wet day! But overall a great race and beautiful scenery on route.

It was unclear from the email weather I needed to attended registration as I already had a race number. But I did and it was unnecessary I would have had a much nicer morning if I hadn’t had to visit the start line at first. But the race was beautiful. I don’t use the water stations to reduce the need for single use cups. I would return however more toilets are needed as the que was massive. I also love to be able too see results by men/women. B

Improvement requires to be made to baggage area. Due to inclement weather not sufficient to just leave baggage in open on a ground sheet as everything gets soaked. Maybe advise participants that if to wish to leave baggage that this is enclosed in a bin bag so at least the bagga...

The event was good, but unfortunately the finish was very poor. I understand that the event was on public paths but there was no effort to ask walkers, dog walkers, cyclists and runners who had finished to move out of the way. I was a part of a large ladies running club who were watching the run after finishing our bit, and when we asked people to move out the way this was met with abuse. There were no marshals in evidence at the end, guiding runners in. I really felt for the runners taking part in the half - the finish is the best bit and they could not even see the end. If this event was to take place again, I think this should be reviewed. I know there are volunteers (our running club is based entirely on volunteers) but there should have been more. In addition, given the time of year this run, it would have been a good idea to offer tea and coffee.

Great event, shame about the weather but really enjoyed the race! Thank you! Only small moan would be that I hadn’t been to Monsal Trail before, so took the information on the website as gospel - which stated that the elevation gain was ~1900 feet. In reality it’s a pretty flat course (~300ft).

Bag area really needed covering, as with rain and hail etc bags were soaked, they had gazebo's for other things why not the bag drop. Didn't seem to be many marshals on the route after the 5k turn around, only at the turn round point for the half marathon, that we could see. One...

It was a wonderful event and course. The entire administration process prior to arriving was excellent, and the office staff were always helpful when I needed to call. It was great that the race director handed out the medals too!
