I hate hills, I'm just going to put it out there. I will do anything to avoid them! I try to sparsely do trails. Saying that I loved this route!  The last hill was a killer I walked it, I'll admit it, but that descent was worth it. Nothing brought a bigger smile to my face than the "caution! Steep descent" sign. The way I see it you need to earn your downhill, and by gum did we!

Back to the race. I can't remember how many water stations there were but they were at regular intervals, fully stocked and enthusiastically manned.

The route was picturesque enough and the local support was phenomenal. So many people out offering Jelly Babies and Haribos. ❤

At the finish line I received my medal, buff, banana and water. All wonderful quality. I especially love the picture on the back.

I really loved the support and pure sportsmanship that Dame Kelly Holmes exuded. Not only did she start her 10k after everyone, she high fived people as they went towards the start line, and again as they were coming in to cross the finish line (yes she overtook me, she's a retired Olympic athlete!!).

Then I fangirled a little later when she very nicely stopped for photo ops.

I'm afraid because I was too preoccupied with fangirling that I didn't appreciate the stalls available (sorry.).

Amazing atmosphere!
