A friend of mine had entered this race but had to pull out through injury. She offered me the place and the process of changing the details was faultless. I arrived early in Liverpool and found a place to park on a side street, then I walked the 2 minutes into Sefton Park - this place is huge!! From the gardens to water fountains, this is a nice place. And the weather was perfect... Blue sky and sunshine all the way! As we gathered on the start line, the music was playing and the atmosphere was great, really friendly. Off we went, I didn't know what to expect as I've not run it before. This may sound daft, but it had the feel of Central Park in New York.... A huge park, with gardens, water features and running trails, surrounded by houses and hotels that are obviously worth a few quid!!! The support was brilliant, locals out enjoying the sun and at least 5 bands on the route that I can remember. As we finished back in Sefton Park, we collected our tshirts and medals and enjoyed the sun. The ONLY criticism about the race is that they run out of large tshirts, although you requested your size upon entering. They admitted this was a mistake when ordering and it was rectified after the event. All in all, a great 10k and one I would do again
