← The Wingham Run

This was the 30th anniversary of this event.

When you arrive in Wingham, there are signs directing you to the playing field where there is plenty of parking. Race numbers & timing chips are collected on the day, despite a queue to collect numbers this was really well organised & moved fast.

The race starts on a closed road next to the playing field, with remaining roads open. The course is undulating, mainly on roads with a small section on gravel. There was 2 water station on the 10k course & 1 on the 5.5k course. The views are of the kent countryside with a windmill at 6k. The last half km is run uphill, with the last 50m to the finish is flat over the playing fields. There was loads of marshalls out on the course, all really supportive, as well as great local support with people out the front of their houses cheering everyone on.

The medal is unique being made by the Canterbury pottery.
