← Severn Bridge Half Marathon

A Half Marathon with a difference, you start on a closed Severn Bridge in Wales but run the majority of the race in England before finishing over the bridge again and into Wales.

Running on the closed bridge is pretty good but it's only for about 1.5km then you are into the country roads around Gloucestershire, very pretty and nice to run the lanes and roads around there where I normally get blown about by cars. Lumpy course with one steep hill but a good course. You don't run on the Severn Bridge road again, u use the cycle/walkway which is a bit dissapointing but hey that's what we got.

Loads of Marshals out which is good, as it's country lanes there is not loads of support but the viallages are nice and a few people were out. No race briefing as such, everything was on the website and the feed stations were only water hence the low mark. I know you don't need anything else but I can't mark it higher.

Good amount of pacers out on the road if you wanted to use them, really good T-shirt and a medal at the finish. Goody bag with a bit of food & lucozade in which was a nice touch.

Lits available at the finish for a smallish Half Marathon and security of bag drop was spot on. Changing tents available & loads of toilets.

Good event and value for money.
