I last ran the race in 2014 when it was flat but a bit boring in places; it has since changed to more picturesque but hilly.
I've run this race 3 times and always been impressed by the race village and organisation. It is a busy race with a large field, which means you've plenty of company throughout the race even if you're a slower runner and it is therefore a good race for a first race.
Pros: Great medal, good race village and organisations, good local support, a large friendly field of runners, mix of city and park running.
Cons: now a hilly course, traffic at the end if you park near the finish area (the alternative is a walk of nearly a mile to the park n walk area), the water stations have really weird water pouches which I either soaked others with or couldn't get any water out, having to run past the finish line at around 12 miles.
