← Hanley Economic Potters 'Arf Marathon

For those who love hills or want a half marathon than tests them , I can't recommend Potters 'Arf enough.

Registration & Organisation was smooth. Information was sent out in plenty of time and race day was problem free.

Starting in Hanley (Stoke on Trents City Centre) the route took us around the town centre before going through Fenton, Longton and meeting the first hill- Anchor Rd at mile 3. This quickly turned into another hill at mile 4 before a bit of restbite as the route crawled through Abbey Hilton & Milton. Even these roads were upward drags.

At mile 9 the route turns round at Baddely Green heading towards town. The famous 'heart break hill' was waiting. This occurs at mile 12 and although not long the incline is steep and you often can power walk up quicker than running it.

From the top you then coast back into Hanley and cheered by the amazing local support.

The race gives out Gold, Silver & Bronze medal depending on finishing time , a tech tshirt, a coaster & dinner plate as well as few snacks.
