i had always been drawn to this race due to its ace medal design and running in the scottish highlands and in 2015 i got to experience it. A short bus ride from the airport at Inverness tonthe city centre and from there the expo was easy to locate the night before the marathon. Picking up race number and enjoying the pre race evening three course meal was certainly a good move at a very reasonable price. The following morning a series of coaches took us runners from the expo/finish area up into the highlands as the sun came up and dropped us off in a beautiful spot next to the River Ness. Bagpipe players started the race with some great tunes and we were off!the route followed the Loch and over various inclines passed many local houses and areas. Locals were great at handing out jelly beans and supporting us. As the route headed towards Inverness the support increased and then you are out on the opposite side to the finish line/expo and only a mile seperated us from our medals. Over a stunning bridge and then a left turn for the final metres to the finish line. Free showers and food was available at the end and a tech tshirt and bespoke medal in the impressive goody bag. One of the best marathons in the UK
