this was my second year of completing the Taunton Marathon. In previous years I had completed the Taunton Half three times and for this year a change to the route in the last few miles of the half and as this route does two laps for the Full Marathon you experience the changes to the route twice. This change was brought in for safety as couldv been dangerous running along the main road in previous years. The course has a fast 4:30 cut off time and is quite a hilly course which takes in the Taunton Town Centre and prestigious Taunton School and winds around local villages and lanes. A bargain price of just over £20 for entry and finishers got chip timing, bespoke medal and cotton tshirt, banana and water. Drinkstations had water and sponges only. Lots of local support and spectators and the second lap certainly goes quieter as all the Half Marathon runners headed off to get their medals and goodybags. Despite the hills its very runnable and PBs are possible. Recommended
