I had a great time and enjoyed myself. One niggle was the confusion about where we were supposed to gather. I ended up in a massive crowd of people, all saying that they had no idea if they were in the right place. (We were, luckily.)
The BIGGEST disappointment was the fact that despite paying £40 for official photos, there were none at all of me crossing the line, on this, my first ever long race. No photo and no video shows that moment.
The photographers were positioned on the course side of the finish line, with the finish BEHIND them, so neither the photos nor the video shows the moment I actually completed the half marathon.
This has left me very disappointed, and was a stupid oversight on the part of the organisers. Did it really not occur to ANYONE that people would want to see their finish line photos? ie photos that show the actual finish and the person actually crossing the actual finish?
I've got a great set of pics of me running towards the camera, but nothing that includes the finish line.
This is why I have marke down the value for money. O paid £40 for photosd and video, but he most important image of all was not taken due to someone not thinking things through.
