I loved this event as a season opener. It was my first ever pool triathlon and even though I was a bit worried about the lanes getting a bit crammed it turned out to be fine with seamless transitions.

The bike was nice and fast, great road surface, little traffic and very well signed meant that you could really work hard without having to worry too much about potholes or missing a turn. Course is rolling and allows for some fast times. 

Run also had a great setting, running through the village and then on surrounding country roads with some beautiful views along the way. It has some long uphill sections which eventually do take their toll, I think I would have appreciated another drink station somewhere along the way as I only remember one. 

All in all this a great local event, with friendly participants, spectators and organisers and one that I would definitely recommend to others. No medal but to be honest I really prefer the tshirt which does have some practical use.
