Third time I'be done this race after it was my first ever 10k in 2015. Same flat course, which takes in some of the lovely historic parts of Lincoln, plus a couple of less scenic housing estates before finishing back in the historic part at the Cathedral.
The fiasco of limited toilets at one of the two car parks last year (which led to massive queues and people missing the start) was rectified this year by just having all the portaloos at the race village near the start. The atmosphere was friendly, and the whole race felt better organised with the drink / Tshirt / goodie bag collection being more spread out at the end. The race village at the finish was moved this year to inside the castle grounds. It maybe wasn't advertised enough as it was quite quiet, being a few minutes walk away from the end of the race but it was a fab setting, and will definitely take advantage of this again next year.
The only negative, if I'm being really picky, is that the t-shirt was pretty much identical to the one two years ago. Black background and plastered in advertising. Not hugely inspiring. Fab medal and goodie bag though!
See you next year!
